Howdy y’all! So every month im going to be posting a series of “still life” photos, and talking about them.
Were gonna start this off with a bang! Since im debuting this blog on Easter Sunday, what else would be better than some cute little bunnies chillin with some chicks???
One day I decided this project was a “go”, and then I was like “oh poop, I don’t have any easter stuff”. Guess that just means I have to go shopping lol. Since its near the end of the merchandising calendar for easter, it was pretty hard to find some cute easter relics. But thankfully, 5 stores later I gathered my items and headed home to see what kind of crafting goodness I could come up with.
I originally wanted this photo to be more color neutral, greens, browns, more of a natural feel to it, but yet again since it was late in the shopping season I had to take what I could get. As soon as I got home I set up my light box in my living room, and my girls (my fur babies) were having a fit! I couldn’t figure out why, they kept going through my shopping bags in a fury. Lol It wasn’t until later that I realized they were expecting treats, and mommy didn’t provide any :( …
So then I had to take the girls to the store to buy them treats so they would let mommy work lol. By the time I got home it was getting late, so then I started rushing to put this all together. Give the girls their treats, head to the light box and put that creative brain to work.
It took me about an hour to put this little gem together. And Im super happy with the results. This is the second time I have used this light box, hoping to use it in the future for product photography shots. Getting used to all the light it puts out is a lot, but fantastic for getting those detailed, sharper images. One major thing I noticed I did that I will change for next time around is... I set the arrangement near the front edge of the box, so In every shot I had to crop out the actual box… so theres not a lot of foreground in any of these pictures… but lesson learned.
Alright I am running out of time to finish this first blog! I really wanted to get more in depth with the actual photography side of this shot, but its already 9pm and I have inventory at 4am, so im going to have to cut this short! Love you all! And thank you so much for taking time out of your busy lives to read! Im hoping to post once a week, not sure if ill be posting on Saturdays or Sundays… but stay tuned!
